You found people to talk to! You got them to a business meeting! You present your business by pitching them! They leave you!
Does this sound familiar? Has it happened to you?
Do not be alarmed because it is very common to meet a person and just pitch them. That's what you've been trained to do. That's what the business books tell you, “always be ready to pitch”, “make sure you have an elevator pitch” and so on.
In a way this is right, you should have your elevator pitch always ready and YOU should be ready to tell it BUT only when you are asked to.
So now you're thinking, “but I got them into a business meeting, the point is to pitch them!”
Yes! But not straight forward. You need to have some conversation before, warm up and lower the guard. They know it's a business meeting and they know you'll pitch them so their guard is up, even if they showed interest.
So what do you do?
How to Present Your Business Effectively
Check out my video here if it doesn't load up.
If you watched my video you know what to do now!
But in case you didn't have time, I have a couple of points to highlight to best present your business.
The practice it to so what I've learned from Eric Worre (a reference in network marketing), Tell the story and do the thing.
Telling the story is a way to connect to your prospect, you open up about yourself and this will open up your prospect to you. Only then you “do the thing”, which is your pitch.
Telling the story does have a very important structure to it and you can see it in my video.
The next step of my SBB video series (skills to build a business) is about following up with your prospects. It is a very important step and many forget about it. So stay tuned for the next post which will come soon.
I hope you found value from this post and as this is a training series, don’t forget to check out the previous and future posts here on my page.
