Inviting a prospect to a business meeting is the second step after you find prospects to talk to and it can be a difficult step when you are starting your own business.
The important mindset for this skill is to take the pressure of yourself and dissociate yourself from the result. This is more important than you might think because when your mind is thinking that you need to get the sale or bringing this person in, then you are setting yourself not to get the sale or person to join the team.
I used to feel the same way and because of it the pressure was so much that I even avoided talking to prospects.
What has helped me was to change the goal of the meeting in my mind. I heard from Eric Worre that the goal of a business meeting with a prospect is to Educate and Understand. This mindset has lifted a burden from me.
Once you incorporate that the goal is to educate your prospect in network marketing and making sure they understand your company and what is does, then the meetings become much easier. There is no pressure or expectation for a sale or new member.
In the third video of my SBB video series you'll learn some tips about inviting people and how to lead presenting your business.
Inviting a Prospect to a Business Meeting
When you are inviting a prospect you know for a business meeting, the easiest way is to text them for a coffee or lunch to catch up.
Nowadays, a phone call can be intrusive and a text will make sure that they read the message and have time to respond at their convenience. In addition, a text doesn't carry the same psychological weight as a phone call and therefore is much easier to send and you can send many in a short period of time.
When you actually sit down with your prospect (or speak on Facebook for instance) and you don't know them, you need to ask questions and not pitching. You want to get to know them and figure out if there is a match between you two and if there is interest from the prospects part to try something new.
Find out what they do, why they do it and above all if they are happy with it.
