Feeling stuck in learning something new? A new skill? A new hobby like rollerblading or skiing? Many of us feel stuck when we are faced with something new that we want to learn. We start and feel stuck and then we don't know what to do. So, how to improve a skill?
Improving any skill requires that you practice the skill. Often we forget that 90% of the learning is in the doing and not in reading, studying, going to talks or conferences. Yes all these things are important and they do help, but when you're stuck … they don't help any more. Remember, knowing the laws of physics and the forces you experience when you're skiing, will not make you a better skier.
The same principle applies to anything you do and it is particularly important when we start talking about business because business, whether you are employed or self-employed, is the source of your income that affects your life.
How to Improve A Skill
In the video you will learn how you can improve any skill, so don't miss it and if you find value in it, share it others now, don't keep it all to yourself.
When you are learning a new skill, please keep the following in mind:
- It is very difficult to look good doing something while you are improving.
- Learn and accept to feel vulnerable while your learning and practicing a new skill. All of us looked weird when we first learned something (remember gym classes!!)
Once you accept these points and you start actually doing and practicing the skill you want, you will see yourself getting unstuck and improving.
